Sei Shihan Ino

Sei Shihan (Senior Master) Ino Maquirang is a student of Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura and is a 6th Degree Black Belt in Seido Karate with over 41 years of international experience in the martial arts.

He started his karate training in 1974. He was a Head Instructor at the World Seido Karate Headquarters (Honbu) in New York City between 1987 and 1997. He has placed in over 150 local, national and international tournaments, including: the Australian National Championship in Forms for 3 consecutive years (1997-1999); the Seido Karate Sogo (Grand Championship) Award for six consecutive years (1991-1996); 1st place in Master’s Kata and 4th place in Lightweight Full-Contact Sparring during the World Seido Karate Championships in New York City against competitors from 26 countries.

He has instructed and participated in demonstrations or clinics in Japan, New Zealand, Australia, England, Italy, Poland, South Africa and throughout the United States, and has appeared in several instructional videos and books. In 1997, he was inducted into the Blitz Magazine Hall of Fame as the Outstanding Kata Competitor of the Year. He received his Masters from New York University and his Bachelors from Georgetown University. He is currently a Founder, Board Member and Advisor to several Australian start-up companies.
